Mishaps Make the Memories Monday

This week, I decided to ask a fellow wedding vendor to share a wedding mishap. I figured they probably see more of them than anyone else, and boy was I right. Stacy, from Sylver Weddings (a California based wedding and event planning company) filled us in on some of the funnier moments she's had while attending clients' weddings. Enjoy!

This last Friday, August 13th, we had a wedding where when the flower girls walked up (they weren't very old, about 6, 2 and 1) the 2 year just wandered about the Dias while the ring bearer was carried up. All the children were seated after the Bride arrived. We come to the part of who has the rings. Well, the MOH and BM SHOULD have had them (but forgot). The Bride and Groom look at them, and they both LOUDLY said, "I DON'T HAVE THEM!!!" Then the MOH walked off the Dais, over to where the ring bearer was being held (He's about a year old) and took his stuffed bear, unzipped the belly and pulled out the rings. Classic!

At another wedding, we were going through the Ceremony, and it was time for the Groom to repeat his vows. He freezes. 5 very long minutes go by, during which I am whispering his cues repeatedly, trying to get him to unfreeze. He finally stammered them out... I was sure we'd have a runaway groom any minute.

Then there was the Rancho Cucamonga Quincenera wedding. Mom was running things late from the ceremony at the church. Guests started arriving at the reception 10 minutes after dinner was to have been served. So I pushed things back a bit to compensate and allow everyone to at least arrive and be seated. Meanwhile the caterers forgot a few serving spoons, and MOM was screaming at the poor girls til they were in tears, (They were just hired help to the caterer), I had to calm Mom down, and then I took the head girl to the local store to buy some serving spoons. Guests never noticed, but Mom was Momzilla...

How many more you want? :)

Thanks for sharing Stacy!

Definitely the moments memories are made of, don't you think? :) We'd love to hear what made YOUR wedding memorable.
